Wrong Start for Scrum

In this blog post, Johanna Rothman shows some of the common problem of teams that think they start using Scrum but stick to traditional project management planning. Some of the smells of this situation could be the fact that the ScrumMaster keep preparing Gantt charts for the iteration or that he tells the team what they can commit to for stories. Another issue is that teams remain siloed, with testers separated from developers for instance. She recommends to stop trying to predict anything for the teams and move to cross-functional teams. She also provides tips on how to manage transferring of user stories ownership and commitment to the team.
