Challenges & Best Practices for Handling AI-Generated Code
Roman Zhukov (Red Hat) & Damian Brady (GitHub) discusses on the challenges and best practices of AI coding: faster≠better. Software developers need education, security practices and human oversight. AI amplifies, but it does not replace coding capabilities.
This conversation is how AI-Generated code affects the software developer workflow itself. This is definitely something that is talked about a lot. The obvious change for developers, especially with generative tooling, is that they have moved from an hour of coding being an hour of coding to potentially some of that work being offloaded elsewhere while they do some parallel work. It is almost like a scaling factor. AI is not considered as a replacement for all the developers, junior developers, and so on. It is more like an amplifier to get things faster.
